Henry Blackaby, in his book Experiencing God, tells us to look around
and see where God is working and then join Him there. According tostatistics for the Chippewa Valley, contemporary country music is the most popular genre. In 2005, three of the five songs nominated for “Song of the Year” by
the Country Music Association had Christian messages:Believe by Brooks and Dunn
Jesus Take the Wheel by Carrie Underwood
When I Get Where I'm Going by Brad Paisley & Dolly Parton
We
believe that God IS at work in country music and we want to join
Him there. Boots ‘n Bibles is an inter-denominational outreach of
believers in Jesus Christ who enjoy contemporary country and gospel music.
We believe that music is a powerful way of helping people understand
God’s truth in their lives. Boots ‘n Bibles combines the best of
contemporary and classic country music with a kickin’ nine piece
country band, some great old Gospel hymns and a short message based
on one of today’s favorite country hits.
Boots ‘n Bibles began its ministry in January of 2006, playing its first
concert (and many others) in April at Trinity Equestrian Center. Since then we have played almost monthly at numerous churches, parks, and auditoriums around the Chippewa Valley.
Our heart is to serve the church of the Chippewa Valley and beyond
by providing concerts that enable multiple (or single) churches to come together for an evangelistic outreach event. Many folks may not be comfortable inviting their friends or family to church but they will invite them to a country music concert. This gives us the opportunity to present Jesus through the country music they are enjoying. Though we are happy to talk and share with folks, follow up is best handled by the people that brought them and the sponsoring churches.
Boots ‘n Bibles can also lead worship for a regular church service or we
can do an entire service. We travel with our own sound system but we can also adapt to quality installed systems. Bill (our founder and missionary leader) can provide a message with the band, we can work with a pastor OR Bill can speak using CD musical examples for services, small groups, Sunday school classes, and even VBS. Costs
Boots ‘n Bibles does not “charge” for its ministry. We believe that the
LORD will provide for our needs as we serve HIM. We do not want money to get in the way of ministry. If you enjoy Country and Gospel music, are looking for a fun and meaningful concert or are just looking to understand life a little better, then Boots ‘n Bibles is for you. Join us for our concerts throughout the
summer. For dates and times of concerts or for more information on bookings, see: www.freewebs.com/bootsnbibles/ or 715-830-9838.
